Box Score 3 The Christian Brothers softball squad picked up one win in a three-game Gulf South Conference series in Clinton, Miss., against Mississippi College. After losing game one, the Lady Bucs won game two before falling in the series finale. CBU is now 15-24 overall and 6-18 in conference play.
GAME 1
CBU lost by a score of 8-2.
Riley Simpson gave the Lady Bucs a brief lead in the first inning when she singled in a run. Simpson also drove in CBU's other run with a fifth-inning single. Simpson had three of CBU's five hits.
Haylee Alberson pitched three innings of scoreless relief.
GAME 2
Ashley Williamson scored the game winner in the 10
th inning to give CBU a 2-1 win in game two.
Emily Schooler pitched all 10 innings for CBU allowing just one run while striking out six. The Lady Bucs outhit Mississippi College, 9-8, in the game. Mackenzie Giesler and
Summer Alexander had two hits apiece for the Lady Bucs.
GAME 3
After leading 3-0 through the top of the fifth inning, Mississippi College rallied to win the series finale, 6-3.
Riley Simpson singled in a run to give CBU its first run.
Katelyn Harmon doubled to left in the fifth inning driving in two to put CBU up 3-0 before the Choctaws rallied.
