Memphis, Tenn. – Sept. 19, 2025 – Christian Brothers volleyball put together a perfect day inside Canale Arena, sweeping both of their Tri-Match opponents. The Lady Bucs opened the afternoon with a decisive 3–0 victory (25–12, 25–17, 25–18) over Alcorn State.
CBU's offense clicked early, led by Ella Schumacher, who tallied eight kills on an impressive .375 hitting percentage. Addison Waggoner added five kills without committing an error (.556), while Calah Jackson also chipped in five kills and a block. The Bucs' serving kept the Braves off balance, registering 12 aces as a team, highlighted by strong runs from Sarah Helms and Sophia Nowacki. Defensively, Nowacki anchored the back row with a match-high 12 digs.
In the nightcap, CBU kept the momentum rolling with another sweep, this time over cross-town rival LeMoyne-Owen, winning 25–15, 25–12, 25–7
The Lady Bucs dominated both ends of the court, hitting .247 as a team while holding the Magicians to a -.015 percentage. Schumacher once again led the attack with 13 kills (.455), while Helms was a spark with three kills and three service aces. CBU racked up 14 aces as a team, including three from Ava Hillyer and three more from Helms. Carleiny Morillo set the tone with 10 assists and two service aces, while Lilly Oxford contributed three aces of her own.
Across the two matches, CBU totaled 61 kills, 26 service aces, and 66 digs, showing depth and balance throughout the roster. The wins push the Lady Bucs to 4–5 overall as they prepare for day two.
