Strong Fourth Quarter Not Enough in Loss at West Alabama

Livingston, AL-  The Tigers jumped out early behind efficient shooting and defensive pressure, building an 18–13 lead after the first quarter.

Christian Brothers stayed within striking distance in the second quarter, fueled by Donee' Frazier's interior scoring and Alice Conrad's activity on both ends of the floor. However, West Alabama continued to capitalize at the free-throw line and extended the lead to 32–23 at halftime.

The decisive stretch came in the third quarter, when West Alabama used a 12–0 run to create its largest lead of the game at 19 points.

Despite the deficit, Christian Brothers responded with resilience in the fourth quarter. Frazier powered the comeback effort, finishing with a team-high 21 points, while Conrad added 15 points, four steals, and six rebounds. The Buccaneers outscored West Alabama 20–17 in the final period, cutting the margin to single digits late, but could not fully overcome the third-quarter run.

West Alabama finished the game shooting 41.3% from the field and 41.7% from three-point range, while Christian Brothers shot 37.0% overall and 18.8% from beyond the arc. Free throws proved pivotal, as West Alabama converted 24-of-37 attempts compared to 14-of-23 for Christian Brothers.

With the win, West Alabama improved to 5–6 overall and 3–4 in conference play, while Christian Brothers fell to 3–8 on the season and 0–5 in league action.
