Argos Pull Away Late, Defeat Christian Brothers 71–61

Pensacola, FL- Christian Brothers stayed right there for much of the afternoon, but a strong second half from West Florida ultimately made the difference as the Buccaneers fell 71–61.

The game actually began in CBU's favor. The Bucs were active defensively and efficient inside, building an early lead and controlling the tempo. They led for nearly 16 minutes of game time and were tied 32–32 at halftime after matching West Florida possession for possession.

Caleb Gaitor carried much of the scoring load, playing all 40 minutes and finishing with a team-high 22 points while adding six assists. Iman Kheirati turned in one of his more complete efforts of the season with 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, giving CBU a steady presence on the glass and helping the Bucs outscore the Argos in second-chance opportunities.

Nigel Quaynor chipped in 4 points and five rebounds, and Marquis Gill added nine points while helping facilitate the offense. Christian Brothers held its own physically, scoring 22 points in the paint and grabbing 39 rebounds as a team.

The difference came after halftime. West Florida shot 56 percent from the field and caught fire from three-point range, hitting 7 of 12 from deep in the second half. The Argos stretched the margin to as much as 19 midway through the period and used timely outside shooting to create separation whenever CBU threatened.

Even so, the Bucs didn't fold. Christian Brothers produced a late 9–0 run in the closing minute to trim the deficit and finish within ten, reflecting the effort level throughout the night.

Christian Brothers drops to 5–20 overall and 4–16 in conference play but showed competitiveness for long stretches, particularly in a tightly played first half against one of the league's stronger teams.
