Weekend Series Recap: West Alabama at CBU

Game 1

West Alabama 5, CBU 2

CBU battled early and took a 2 to 1 lead in the second inning after Cayden Freels hit a two run home run. That was a bright spot for the Bucs, and the pitching staff kept things close through the middle innings.

West Alabama pulled ahead in the fifth with a two run double, then added insurance runs late. CBU finished with six hits, including doubles from Ivan Zambrano and Isaac Lemanski. The Bucs turned two double plays defensively, but a few errors made it tough to slow West Alabama's momentum.

Game 2

West Alabama 11, CBU 3

West Alabama put together a big third inning and never looked back. CBU kept competing and collected 10 hits in the game.

Ivan Zambrano provided the highlight with a two run home run in the eighth. Isaac Lemanski had a strong day at the plate with three hits, and Patrick Mangels added two doubles. The Bucs showed fight late, scoring three runs in the final two innings.

Game 3

West Alabama 11, CBU 3

West Alabama jumped out to an early lead, but CBU answered in the first with a solo home run from Mikey Rodriquez.

Isaac Lemanski continued his strong weekend with three more hits, and Patrick Mangels drove in a run. The Bucs finished with seven hits and stayed aggressive at the plate. Despite the result, CBU continued to compete throughout the series and will look to build on the positives moving forward.
