Cleveland, TN- The CBU women's tennis team faced a challenging matchup against Lee University, dropping the contest after Lee secured the doubles point and carried that momentum into singles play.
Doubles
Lee claimed all three doubles courts. At No. 3 doubles, CBU defaulted, giving Lee the early edge. At No. 1, Valerie Neumann and Fernanda Garcia Galvez fell 6-1. Raheen Taranum and Neha Dandu battled at No. 2 doubles but were defeated 6-2. The doubles order of finish was 3, 1, 2.
Singles
In singles, Neumann delivered the most competitive match of the day at No. 1. She took the opening set 6-4 before falling 2-6 and 7-10 in a match tiebreak against Lee's nationally ranked Rima Yoshida.
Garcia Galvez dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 2, while Dandu fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. At No. 4, Taranum's match ended due to retirement. CBU defaulted at both No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
The singles order of finish was 5, 6, 3, 4, 2, 1 as the Lady Bucs continue to compete through conference play.
