NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Christian Brothers University volleyball opened the 2026 season with three matches in Nashville, gaining valuable early-season experience while showing several positives to build on.
CBU's best showing came against Shorter, where the Buccaneers battled back from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set before falling 3-2. The response showed the team's ability to compete through adversity and improve as the match progressed.
Sarah Helms was a bright spot throughout the weekend, including a seven-kill, .700 hitting performance against Ohio Dominican. Alexis Goodman also hit .400 in that match, while the Buccaneers finished with 10 total blocks.
CBU closed the weekend against Lincoln Memorial, with Alana Martinez and Goodman each recording five kills.
While the Buccaneers will look to clean up early-season mistakes and become more consistent, the weekend provided valuable film, experience and several encouraging moments to build on moving forward.
