MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Christian Brothers battled for 90 minutes Saturday afternoon, but a second-half goal proved to be the difference as the Buccaneers fell 1-0 to Spring Hill at Signaigo Field.
CBU created opportunities throughout the match, including an early shot on target from Julia Brandao in the 13th minute that forced a save. Kaylee Allen kept the match scoreless in the first half with a key save on Spring Hill's Julie Cooke.
The Buccaneers continued to push after halftime, with Ava Reotutar putting two shots on target in the second half and forcing saves in the 69th and 72nd minutes.
Spring Hill broke through in the 74th minute, with Cooke scoring to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead.
CBU continued to battle until the final whistle, creating late opportunities from Lola Alonso and Sarah Elliott. Allen finished with two saves, while the Buccaneers recorded six shots, three on goal, and limited Spring Hill to four total shots.
Despite the result, CBU showed resilience and continued to compete throughout the match as the Buccaneers look ahead to their next Gulf South Conference contest.
