MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Christian Brothers University Men's Soccer continued to show signs of progress Saturday night, battling AUM for 90 minutes before falling 1-0 at the AUM Soccer Complex.
Despite the result, the Buccaneers created plenty of opportunities throughout the match. CBU outshot AUM 12-6 and put four attempts on goal, keeping pressure on the Warhawks and giving themselves opportunities to find an equalizer.
AUM scored the match's only goal in the first half, but CBU responded by continuing to attack. The Bucs produced five shots and three corner kicks after halftime as they searched for the tying goal.
Daiki Ebihara led CBU with three shot attempts, while Matthias Ran De Berg added two shots, including one on goal. Goalkeeper Pablo Ossorio made two saves while playing all 90 minutes.
While the final score did not fall CBU's way, the performance showed a group continuing to compete and create opportunities as the Bucs work through the early portion of conference play.
For a team focused on building momentum, the next step will be turning those opportunities into goals as the season continues.
