MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Christian Brothers University women's cross country continues to make its presence felt in the South Region, as the Buccaneers moved up in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Regional Rankings.
The movement is another positive step for a CBU program that has continued to gain momentum throughout the early portion of the 2026 season. The Bucs entered the year ranked No. 10 in the South Region and have continued working their way up as the season progresses.
CBU's rise has been fueled by a developing group led by freshman Eleni Stemmildt, who has already established herself as one of the top young runners in the Gulf South Conference. Stemmildt has broken CBU's 5K cross country record this season while competing against strong fields that have included Division I competition.
The regional recognition also reflects the continued development of the entire women's squad under head coach Bill Hoffman, as the Buccaneers look to turn early-season performances into an even stronger second half of the year.
As championship season approaches, CBU's climb in the rankings is another sign the Buccaneers are moving in the right direction.
The Bucs will look to continue that upward trend as they prepare for their next competition.
