Dr. Thomas Cooper, who is in his first year as the leader of the CBU shooting team, is also an associate professor in the CBU Department of Nursing. 

"I am excited to be chosen to help bring a competitive clay target shooting program to CBU," Cooper said. "There are nearly 400 high school athletes competing monthly in clay target sports in the Memphis area. CBU will provide the opportunity for these athletes to continue their shooting careers while obtaining a quality education in their home environment." 

Cooper became involved in clay target sports in 2010 and is coming to CBU from being the head coach of CBHS Brothers in Arms Trap and Skeet Team since 2017. During his time at CBHS he coached teams to win team, squad and individual awards at the local, regional, state and national levels as well as a four-time American Trap Association All-American athlete.
