Matthew Mills is in his first season as a student assistant coach with the CBU baseball program. He is the assistant pitching coach, assistant hitting coach and first base coach.
The Memphis native played two seasons for the Bucs, pitching in 32 games. Prior to enrolling at CBU, he pitched for two years at Southwest Tennessee Community College, where he was both a starter and a reliever, earning TJCCAAÂ Pitcher of the Week twice.
Mills is also a coach for the East Coast Sox competitive baseball organization, and he was a coach of a 15-year-old team that won the 2017 Perfect Game WWBA National Championship.
Mills is completing his degree in CBU's Sports Management program.
