Barry Wellington is in his second year as an assistant coach for the Christian Brothers University men's basketball program. 

The Memphis native is a 2016 graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Applied Arts & Science. He played his senior season at Mountain State University (West Virginia) for Bob Bolen where he became an All-American.
 
Following a career-ending injury, Wellington began his coaching career at Lamar State College Port-Arthur, where he coached a pair of NJCAA All-Americans, a Region 14 Player of the Year award winner, four First Team All-Region selections, three Second-Team All-Region players, four First Team All-Conference players and three Second-Team All-Conference recipients.
 
Wellington graduated from Treadwell High School, where NBA alums Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway and Elliot Perry also attended. During his time at Treadwell, Wellington earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors, and was a two-time Best of the Preps selection.
