James Beattie

James Beattie enters his second year as an assistant coach for the Christian Brothers University men's soccer program. Beattie brings a wide range of coaching and playing experience stretching from both the collegiate to professional soccer ranks.

In his first season, the Bucs qualified for the Gulf South Conference Tournament, and the team posted a 3.41 GPA, during the spring semester.
 
The Glasgow, Scotland native played collegiate soccer at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and Oklahoma City University. Beattie scored 40 goals and tabbed 41 assists, while compiling a record of 54-15-2 throughout his 4 year collegiate career. He was a 4 time First Team All-Conference player, and was named to the 2017 NSCAA First Team All-American. Before arriving in the United States, Beattie was a professional footballer for Partick Thistle FC, and is a graduate of the prestigious Queens Park Football Club professional youth academy.

Beattie started his coaching career in Scotland working with the Partick Thistle FC professional youth academy. He is now an Associate Director of Coaching for Lobos Rush Soccer Club. Beattie also serves as the Head Coach for the Memphis Lobos that compete in Women's Premier Soccer League, the second tier of the women’s professional soccer pyramid. He also serves as a head coach for the Rush National Team program. He has obtained his USSF C license and his UEFA Scottish FA C license. Beattie graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelors of Science in Human Performance with a minor in History, and is currently enrolled in his Masters of Sport Administration at Arkansas State University.
