CLEVELAND, Miss.—Host Delta State used a 52nd-minute goal to take a 1-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Wednesday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action.
The Lady Bucs (6-3-1, 0-1-1 GSC) out-shot DSU (7-3-2, 1-0-0) 6-1 in the first half, but DSU keeper Sarah Prevost made saves on all five shots on goal.
Just over six minutes after the intermission, DSU's Erin Smith served a corner into the box, setting Lacy Mixon up for the game-winning goal.
The game was the first of six straight on the road for the Lady Bucs, resuming Tuesday night at 7 p.m. as they visit North Alabama.
