Bucs Finish Fourth in GSC, Lady Bucs 13th

Hill Earns All-GSC Honors

Stephen Hill earned First-Team All-GSC honors for the fourth straight year with a sixth-place finish in the Gulf South Conference Championships Friday.

HOOVER, Ala.—The Christian Brothers University Bucs finished fourth in the Gulf South Conference Championships Friday morning in Hoover, Ala., while the Lady Bucs earned a 13th-place finish.

Senior Stephen Hill (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) earned First-Team All-GSC for the fourth straight year by finishing sixth with an 8k time of 26:10, the top American and the top finisher for any team other than champion Harding, who swept the top five places.

John Waldorf (South Elgin, Ill./St. Edward HS) and Nate Spears (Dayton, Ohio/Beavercreek HS) were the next two Bucs across the line, finishing 21st and 22nd in 27:40 and 27:41, respectively. Rex Hammonds (Memphis, Tenn./Central HS) finished 25th in 27:57, while Jordan Michael (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton HS) rounded out the CBU scoring with a 28th-place finish in 28:08.

Brittly Butler (Dyersburg, Tenn./Dyersburg HS) led the Lady Bucs with a 63rd-place finish, running 5k in 22:33. Kelly Summons (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes Academy) was 68th in 22:53. Rachael Haag (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes Academy) and Porsha Chillis (Memphis, Tenn./East HS) finished back-to-back in 80th and 81st place with times of 23:35 and 23:51, respectively, while Heather Gosnell (Brighton, Tenn./Brighton HS) rounded out the CBU scoring with an 85th-place finish in 24:48.
