FLORENCE, Ala.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs used three second-half goals to blow open a close game as they won 4-0 at North Alabama Tuesday night, evening their Gulf South Conference record.
Anna Laskarzewska (Edmonton, Alberta/Archbishop O'Leary) scored what would prove to be the only goal the Lady Bucs (7-3-1, 1-1-1 GSC) would need in the 10th minute when she scored unassisted, and it would be the start of a strong game for the freshman forward.
Laskarzewska assisted on a
Colleen McDaniel (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS) goal in the 55th minute, and the two teams had to wait out a lengthy lightning delay shortly thereafter.
Once the game resumed, Laskarzewska scored again in the 62nd minute, and
Elin Svavarsdottir (Reykjavík, Iceland/Menntaskolinn vid Hamrahlid) provided the final margin with a 66th-minute goal.
Libby Hake (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) made three saves as she earned the shutout.
The Lady Bucs and the Lions (5-8-0, 1-2-0) each took eight shots for the game.
The Lady Bucs will visit No. 2 West Florida Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. The game will be played at Pensacola's Brosnaham Park, home of next month's GSC Tournament.
