Box Score MEMPHIS—Ten players scored as the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs won 69-48 over Mid-Continent Tuesday night at Canale Arena.
The Lady Bucs (2-0) spread the ball around, with no player scoring more than 11 points and with 10 of their 11 players scoring at least one bucket.
Early on, the Lady Cougars (1-4) stayed close, as the game was knotted at 21 with eight minutes to play in the first half. The Lady Bucs pounded it inside as they put it away quickly from there with a 21-4 run that saw 14 points scored in the paint.
Tameka Wooten (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS) scored nine of her 11 points during the run as she tied
Katie Hume (Memphis, Tenn./Evangelical Christian School) for the team lead in scoring. Hume made three three-pointers in the game, a bright spot on the perimeter in a game where the Lady Bucs as a team shot just 6-of-21 from beyond the arc.
Nicki Dewitt led the Lady Cougars with 15 points, while Brittany Butler scored a dozen.
The Lady Bucs will play in the Drury Invitational this weekend in Springfield, Mo., facing the No. 7 host team Friday night at 6 p.m. before playing Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday at 2 p.m.
