PENSACOLA, Fla.—Second-seeded Montevallo scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament Friday.
The Lady Falcons (11-5-3) struck first in the ninth minute when Alex Terhar finished off a cross from Catherine Honey. Terhar's cross set up a Kami Kapaku goal in the 18th minute, doubling their lead.
Honey scored in the 44th minute, and Kapaku tacked on another goal in the 74th minute to set the final score at 4-0.
Libby Hake (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) made six second-half saves for CBU as the Lady Bucs were out-shot 14-5, including a 10-2 edge in shots on goal.
The Lady Bucs finish the season at 10-7-2. Seniors
Jeanine Abell (Chatanooga, Tenn./Notre Dame HS),
Colleen Hart (Tulsa, Okla./Cascia Hall Prep), and
Kate Miller (Memphis, Tenn./Germantown HS) played their final games for CBU Friday.
