MONTEVALLO, Ala.—Florida Tech used two first-half goals on their way to a 3-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Friday afternoon in the season opener for both squads.
The Panthers (1-0) struck first in the 11th minute as Teresa Brantley scored off an assist from Brittany Carnegie. Kelli Ragan capitalized on an Alyssa Esposito cross in the 34th minute to make it a 2-0 margin.

Elin Svavarsdottir (Reykjavík, Iceland/Menntaskolinn vid Hamrahlid) scored on a long shot to pull CBU within one. Megan Stone scored unassisted for FIT in the 88th minute to put the game out of reach and set the final margin.

Libby Hake (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) made four saves in her college debut as CBU was out-shot 14-11, including a 7-3 margin in shots on goal.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they visit Sewanee.
