MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs won their third straight game Saturday afternoon as they rallied from an early deficit to win 2-1 at Rhodes.
The Lynx (3-1-1) scored first just under five minutes in as Jessie Cassidy found the net.
From there, however, the Lady Bucs (3-2-0) kept constant pressure on the Rhodes keepers. Rhodes' Becca Clarin made five saves in the next 20 minutes to keep CBU scoreless, but as has been the case so often this year, it was sophomore
Elin Svavarsdottir (Reykjavík, Iceland/Menntaskolinn vid Hamrahlid) who broke through for CBU in the 40th minute, scoring the equalizer.
Just three minutes after the halftime break, Svavarsdottir scored the game-winner, her eighth goal in just five games, and neither team scored in the final 42 minutes.
For the game, the Lady Bucs out-shot Rhodes 12-4, including a 9-1 margin in shots on goal. The Lady Bucs return to action Wednesday night at 6 p.m. as they take on Crichton.
