MEMPHIS—Two Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs posted hat tricks as the Lady Bucs rolled to a 10-0 win over visiting Alcorn State Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field.
The Lady Bucs (5-2-0) ran their winning streak to five games, their longest since winning 10 straight in 2003.
CBU got on the board quickly, with
Gigja Heidarsdottir (Hafnarfjörður, Iceland/Flensborg School) scoring the game's first goal in the fifth minute. Just a minute and 20 seconds later,
Elin Svavarsdottir (Reykjavík, Iceland/Menntaskolinn vid Hamrahlid) scored the first of her three first-half goals. Svavarsdottir scored again in the 19th minute, followed by
Colleen McDaniel (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS) in the 30th minute.
Anna Laskarzewska (Edmonton, Alberta/Archbishop O'Leary) scored the first of her three goals in the 32nd minute, and Svavarsdottir finished her first-half hat trick in the 34th minute, putting CBU ahead 6-0 at the intermission.
In the second half, Laskarzewska scored in the 51st minute, followed by
Rachel Hall (Portadown, N. Ireland/Royal School Armagh) in the 56th.
Annelise Nevarez (Cumming, Ga./Pinecrest Academy) made it 9-0 in the 59th minute, and Laskarzewska finished the scoring at 10-0 with a 65th-minute score.
Svavarsdottir's hat trick was her first of the year and the second of her career, after she scored four in a win over Trevecca Nazarene. Laskarzewska's goals were her first three in a CBU uniform.
Nevarez and Heidarsdottir each had a goal and an assist, while
Samantha de Melo (Langley, B.C./Langley Secondary School) and
Marie Kvarnlof (Östersund, Sweden/Wargentins School) each added an assist.
Christina Barone (Phoenix, Ariz./Cactus Shadows HS) and

The Lady Bucs play their final tuneup before Gulf South Conference play Wednesday afternoon as they visit Trevecca Nazarene at 3:30 p.m. They open GSC play at home Saturday at 5 p.m. against Montevallo.
