Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Host Ouachita Baptist went on a 25-6 run bridging the halftime break as they pulled away for a 78-57 Gulf South Conference West Division win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Thursday night at Canale Arena.
After the first 15 minutes saw 10 ties and five lead changes, the Lady Tigers (11-3, 1-1 GSC West) scored 10 straight points to spark the decisive 25-6 run, ending with back-to-back Haley Griffin baskets. The Lady Bucs (7-8, 0-2) never came closer than 13 points again. Griffin scored a game-high 22 points with nine rebounds.
Crystal Shelton (Nashville, Tenn./Hume Fogg) led the Lady Bucs with 14 points, while
Tanaeya Worden (Sioux City, Iowa/Sioux City North HS) had 13 points and four steals.
The Lady Tigers bludgeoned the Lady Bucs 59-24 on the boards, including a 22-3 margin on the offensive boards, as they capitalized on a big advantage in scoring chances in a game where both teams struggled from the floor. The Lady Bucs shot 34.5 percent (20-of-58) from the floor to Ouachita's 36.7 percent (22-of-60), but OBU made 32 of 40 free throws to the Lady Bucs' 16-of-19.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. as they host Delta State.
