Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs forced 25 first-half turnovers and rolled up a 48-25 halftime lead on their way to a 74-51 win over Mid-Continent Tuesday night at Canale Arena.
The Lady Bucs (3-1) built a 17-4 lead in the first four and a half minutes and never looked back, leading by as many as 35 points as they rolled to victory.
Sheena DeBose (Tunica, Miss./Rosa Fort HS) scored a team-high 13 for the Lady Bucs.
Briley Milfeld (Farmington, Mo./Farmington HS) scored 12 in 17 minutes off the bench, and
Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) added 10. 11 of the Lady Bucs' 12 players scored in the game.
Katie Hume (Memphis, Tenn./Evangelical Christian School) set a career high with seven steals to go with her eight points. Johnson and
Aramis Judson (Bristow, Va./Stonewall Jackson HS) also had five steals each as CBU collected 24 steals in the game.
Kandi Knupp led Mid-Continent with 16 points. Tiffany Payton scored 13, and Katelyn Perry added 11. As an NAIA team, Mid-Continent counted tonight's game as an exhibition game.
The Lady Bucs forced a season-high 34 turnovers for the game, converting them into 36 points. The Lady Bucs held Mid-Continent to 37.5 percent (18-of-48) from the floor, while CBU was 39.7 percent (27-of-68). The Cougars out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 45-38, but CBU held a 14-12 edge on the offensive boards.
The Lady Bucs return to the court Saturday at 2 p.m. as they host North Alabama.
