Lady Bucs' Streak Snapped at Eight in 86-54 Loss

Briley Milfeld scored seven points in 17 minutes, but the Lady Bucs lost 86-54 at Missouri-St. Louis Monday night.
Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Host Missorui-St. Louis took command with a 13-0 run late in the first half and never looked back as they won 86-54 over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Monday night at the Mark Twain Building.

The game's first 15 minutes were evenly-matched with four ties and five lead changes, but the Tritons (3-7) starterd the backbreaking run with a Kiki Robinson layup with 4:25 remaining in the half, just after Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) had cut the lead to 30-25 on a three-pointer.  Caitlyn Moody followed with a three-pointer, and back-to-back threes from Lindsey Ransome and a Kristi White layup pushed the margin to 43-25.  The Lady Bucs (8-2) never came closer than 15 points again.

White scored a game-high 18 for the Tritons, while Moody and Hailee Deckard scored 12 each.  Ransome scored 11 off the bench.

Johnson led the Lady Bucs with 12.  Tameka Wooten (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS) scored 11 with seven rebounds, while Jasmine Ellis (Memphis, Tenn./Central HS) had 10.

The Lady Bucs shot just 28.8 percent (17-of-59) from the floor and 21.1 percent (4-of-19) from three-point range, while UMSL was 44.6 percent (33-of-74) overall and 40.9 percent (9-of-22) from beyond the arc.  UMSL bludgeoned the Lady Bucs 56-34 on the boards, including a 21-10 edge in offensive boards.  CBU committed 14 turnovers while forcing 12.

The road doesn't get any easier for the Lady Bucs, who visit No. 4 Indianapolis next Wednesday at 1 p.m.  Their next home game is their GSC West opener, Jan. 9 against Arkansas-Monticello at 2 p.m.
