Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs committed 22 turnovers and shot just 32.6 percent in a 66-37 loss at Delta State Saturday night in Gulf South Conference West Division play.
A 15-3 run midway through the first half allowed the Lady Statesmen (19-6, 9-1 GSC West) to take control, claiming a 25-12 lead on a pair of Denesha Henderson free throws with 5:02 remaining in the half.
They put it away quickly with a 29-5 run over a 12-minute span starting with a Renita Jones layup with 1:23 remaining in the first half. When Lamaesha McAdory's layup ended the run, the Lady Statesmen led 59-23 with 9:23 remaining, and the Lady Bucs (8-15, 1-9) never came closer than 28 again.
Sheena DeBose (Tunica, Miss./Rosa Fort HS) led the Lady Bucs with 12 points, while
Tameka Wooten (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS) had nine points and seven rebounds.
McAdory led DSU with 14.
The Lady Bucs will return to the court Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. as they visit Harding.
