MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs wrapped up their third straight Gulf South Conference Tournament berth Wednesday night with a 1-0 win over Alabama-Huntsville.
The Lady Bucs (10-4-0, 3-2-0 GSC) scored the only goal they would need in the 60th minute as
Allison Tutt (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) collected a loose ball in the box and found paydirt.
Despite playing with 10 after a red card less than a minute later, the Lady Bucs managed to keep UAH (7-7-0, 3-4-0) out of the net for the final 30 minutes as
Libby Hake (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) earned her fifth shutout of the season with five saves.
The Lady Bucs were out-shot 14-7 for the game, but they held a 7-5 edge in shots on goal.
The Lady Bucs have two more games on tap before heading to Pensacola, Fla., for the GSC Tournament. They take on West Georgia Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. before hosting Harding Tuesday in the make-up game from Sunday's rainout. Kickoff time for the Harding game has not been set.
