Lady Bucs Outlast OBU 2-1 in Double-Overtime

Sarah Catherine Ryan scored both goals to lift the Lady Bucs to a 2-1 double-overtime win over Ouachita Baptist Sunday afternoon.
MEMPHIS—Christian Brothers University junior forward Sarah Catherine Ryan (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes Academy) scored both goals as the Lady Bucs won 2-1 in double-overtime Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game against Ouachita Baptist.

The Lady Tigers (5-6) struck first as Beth Wendl scored the game's first goal in the 18th minute.  In the 31st minute, Marie Kvarnlof (Östersund, Sweden/Wargentins School) fed a through ball to Ryan, who found the net for the equalizer.  The score would stay 1-1 until Ryan headed in a Kelsey LaBarreare (Eads, Tenn./Briarcrest HS) cross for the game-winner in the 108th minute, with just 2:23 remaining in the second overtime.

Each team took 13 shots, with OBU holding an 8-5 edge in shots on goal.  Libby Hake (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) turned in another strong performance with seven saves as she earned the victory.

The Lady Bucs hit the road Tuesday night to visit North Alabama at 7 p.m.  Their next home game is set for Wednesday, Oct. 13, against Central Baptist at 5 p.m.
