Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs celebrated the beginning of the Sarah Condra era Saturday afternoon as they rolled to an 81-55 win over visiting LeMoyne-Owen in their first game of the season.
The Lady Bucs (1-0) seized control with a 15-0 run midway through the first half, turning a 10-7 deficit into a 22-10 lead with 10:28 remaining in the half on an
Aramis Judson (Bristow, Va./Stonewall Jackson HS) fast-break three-pointer. The Lady Bucs never allowed the Lady Magicians (0-1) closer than eight points again.
The Lady Magicians used a 6-0 burst to pull within 57-47 with 9:25 remaining, but the Lady Bucs put the game away with a 24-8 run over the final eight minutes, extending the lead to as many as 28 points.
Junior forward
Caitlin House (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) exploded for 23 points, 16 rebounds, eight steals, and two blocks in her CBU debut. Her 16 rebounds and eight steals each tied for the second-most in a game in school history. The late Jackie Moore holds the rebound record with 17 against Ouachita Baptist in 2005, while Stephanie Stewart set the steal mark with nine against West Alabama in 2000.
Sheena DeBose (Tunica, Miss./Rosa Fort HS) also dominated for the Lady Bucs, logging 24 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in 25 minutes.
Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) added seven assists and six rebounds, while
Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) scored 14 points in 19 minutes.
Ryan Herd led the Lady Magicians with 17 points, while Blair Scott scored 12.
The Lady Bucs won't have long to celebrate, as they welcome former head coach Scott Groninger's West Georgia Lady Wolves to Canale Arena Monday night at 5 p.m.
