Lady Bucs Win Third Straight, 74-62

Marissa Stewart scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Lady Bucs' 74-62 win at Lane Wednesday night.
Box Score JACKSON, Tenn.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs used a 13-2 run early in the second half to take control, and they never trailed again in a 74-62 win at Lane Wednesday night.

The host Dragons (0-1) took a 30-25 lead on a Natasha Farr layup to open the second half, but the Lady Bucs (3-0) answered with a Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) layup, six free throws, a Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) three-pointer, and a Caitlin House (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) layup to take a 38-32 lead with 15:36 remaining.  Lane never came closer than three points again.

Sheena DeBose (Tunica, Miss./Rosa Fort HS) led all scorers with 22 points for the Lady Bucs, while House turned in her third straight double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks.  House was a perfect 14-of-14 at the free throw line.  Marissa Stewart (Atlanta, Ga./Arlington Christian HS) had 11 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench.

Shelice Crater led Lane with 13 points.  Farr scored 12, while Angel Hornsburger tacked on 10.

The Lady Bucs out-rebounded Lane 39-30, but they committed 20 turnovers while forcing 14.  The Lady Bucs were 78.8 percent (26-of-33) from the free throw line and 44 percent (22-of-50) overall, while Lane was 39.1 percent (25-of-64) overall and 78.6 percent (11-of-14) at the stripe.

The Lady Bucs hit the court again Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Mid-Continent.
