Lions Stifle Lady Bucs 68-57

Normanique Johnson scored 16 points in the Lady Bucs' 68-57 loss at North Alabama Saturday afternoon.
Box Score FLORENCE, Ala.—Host North Alabama held the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs to just 34 percent from the floor as they won 68-57 Saturday afternoon, handing the Lady Bucs their third straight loss.

After a back-and-forth first half featuring three ties and seven lead changes, the Lions (3-3) scored the final nine points of the first half, capping a 22-4 run that gave UNA a 35-21 halftime lead.  The Lady Bucs (4-3) never came closer than nine points in the second half.

Sheena DeBose (Tunica, Miss./Rosa Fort HS) paced the Lady Bucs with 19 points and nine rebounds.  Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) scored 16 with four steals and three assists.

Sanqueeta Meardith led UNA with 16 points.  Niala Harris scored 12, while Lacy Lewis and Dana Jackson added 10 each.

The Lady Bucs were 21-of-61 (34.4 percent) from the floor compared to UNA's 25-of-60 (41.7 percent).  UNA held a 43-42 edge on the boards, and they forced 18 turnovers while committing 13.

The Lady Bucs return to action Wednesday night at 5 p.m. as they host Missouri-St. Louis.
