JACKSON, Miss.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs equaled their season scoring output as they rolled to a 4-1 win at Belhaven Saturday night.
Freshman
Lauren Quinones (Melbourne, Fla./West Shore HS) scored the opening goal in the 17th minute to put the Lady Bucs (3-2) on the board. Just 24 seconds later, Belhaven's MaryBeth Weber scored the equalizer on an unassisted goal.
Lauren Browning (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes Academy) took a feed from Quinones and found the net in the 24th minute to break the tie, and she tacked on another goal just 2:22 later off an
Allison Tutt (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) corner kick.
Mallory Geraci (New Orleans, La./Mount Carmel Academy) set the final margin with an unassisted goal in the 85th minute.
Belhaven (1-5) out-shot the Lady Bucs 14-10, including a 10-7 edge in shots on goal, but CBU goalkeeper
Libby Hake (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) made nine saves to pick up the victory.
The Lady Bucs come home Tuesday night to host Montevallo at 5 p.m.
