House's Career Night Not Enough in 88-74 Loss

Caitlin House scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but the Lady Bucs lost 88-74 at Henderson State Saturday.
Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Junior forward Caitlin House (Memphis, Tenn., Briarcrest Christian HS) scored a career-high 33 points, but the Lady Bucs dropped an 88-74 decision at Henderson State Saturday afternoon.

The first 13 minutes saw four ties and seven lead changes before the Lady Reddies (10-5, 1-2 GSC West) seized control with a quick 9-0 burst in just 1:37, building a 32-24 lead on a Chrystal Harrison three-point play with 5:59 remaining in the first half.

The Lady Reddies threatened to pull away several times in the second half, building a 15-point lead and a pair of 12-point leads before the Lady Bucs (7-8, 0-3) whittled the lead back to eight points several time, the last being at 65-57 on a pair of free throws from House with 8:54 remaining.  HSU answered with a 19-6 lead to put the game out of reach.

House grabbed 10 rebounds and added three assists, two steals, and two blocks to her career-best 33 points.  Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) scored 18 and grabbed four rebounds with three assists.

Gianna Woods led HSU with 20 points and nine rebounds.  Nyesha Adams scored 15, and Harrison added 11.

The Lady Reddies shot 44.6 percent (29-of-65) to the Lady Bucs' 41.5 percent (22-of-53), and their 45-33 rebound margin included a 14-5 lead in offensive boards.  HSU also enjoyed a 22-17 lead in turnovers.

The Lady Bucs will return to Arkadelphia Thursday night at 6 p.m. as they visit Ouachita Baptist.  Their next home game is next Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Harding.
