Marissa Stewart scored five points in the Lady Bucs' 84-49 loss at No. 3 Delta State Thursday night.
Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss.—No. 3 Delta State wasted little time wrapping up their 60th straight home win Thursday night, going on a 24-0 run early in the first half en route to an 84-49 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs.

The Lady Bucs (7-11, 0-6 GSC West) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening minute after baskets by Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) and Caitlin House (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS).  From there, DSU All-American Bug Cooper took control, assisting on 10 straight DSU (17-1, 5-1) baskets during the decisive 24-0 run, putting the Lady Statesmen ahead 24-4 with 12:16 remaining in the half.  The Lady Bucs never came closer than 15 points again.

Johnson scored a game-high 18 for the Lady Bucs.  Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) scored eight.

Cooper finished with 13 assists on 15 DSU baskets during her 15 minutes on the floor.  She also helped account for the other two, making the basket herself on one, and the other was a putback after her pass set up the initial shot.  Veronica Walker was her most frequent target, scoring 18 points in just 11 minutes.
  Jamie Lack added 14.

The Lady Bucs come home Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. as they welcome Southern Arkansas to Canale Arena to conclude the first half of the GSC West schedule.
