Early on, the Lady Bucs (17-4, 5-2 GSC) appeared to have the match well in hand, building first-set leads of 9-4, 14-6, and 22-11 on their way to a 25-17 win.  After the Lady Bucs had built a 13-9 lead in the second set, the Lady Chargers (7-13, 2-5) answered with 13 of the next 17 points to take a 22-17 lead, winning the set 25-20.  The Lady Bucs dominated the third set, jumping out to a 14-2 lead on their way to a 25-16 win.  It was the Lady Chargers who controlled the fourth set, however, building leads of 10-3, 16-7, and 22-9 en route to a 25-15 win, sending the game to a decisive fifth set.

The fifth set was back-and-forth throughout, with 11 ties and five lead changes.  Neither team led by more than one point until the Lady Bucs ended it with back-to-back kills from Hailey Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS) and Lizzie McLean (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS).
