Box Score MEMPHIS—Visiting Alabama-Huntsville used three second-half goals to break a 1-1 tie and defeat the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field.
The Lady Chargers (5-7-2, 3-1-1 GSC) opened the scoring in the 37th minute as Cady Reisman tracked down a loose ball near the box and converted on her one-on-one chance on goal. After several near-misses, the Lady Bucs (5-7-2, 2-4) answered in the 42nd minute as
Alex Bickenbach (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) scored after
Amanda Smith (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) served a free kick into the box.
UAH scored again in the 69th minute as Khadijah Jannah ran down a loose ball and scored. Reisman tacked on another goal on a long shot from the left side that curled into the top of the net in the 72nd minute, and Jannah tacked on another score in the 80th minute to set the final margin.
With the win, UAH clinches a berth in next month's GSC Tournament and eliminates the Lady Bucs from the tournament. West Florida and Valdosta State have also clinched tournament berths. With one game left, the Lady Bucs cannot pass North Alabama, and UNA holds the tiebreaker after defeating the Lady Bucs earlier this month.
The Lady Bucs step out of GSC play for their next three games, visiting Ouachita Baptist and Harding next Friday and Sunday, respectively, before coming home to host Rhodes Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m.
