Scots Top Lady Bucs 69-48 in Opener

Jessica Green scored 11 points with six rebounds in the Lady Bucs' 69-48 season-opening loss at Lyon Saturday afternoon.
Box Score BATESVILLE, Ark.—Host Lyon used a 17-2 run early in the game to take control as they pulled away to a 69-48 win over the Christian Brotehrs University Lady Bucs in the Lady Bucs' first game of the season.

After the teams traded baskets to start the game, Lyon (2-1) went on the 17-2 run sparked by a Lauren Ramsey bucket, eventually giving them a 19-4 lead on an Alex Davidson free throw with 8:32 remaining in the half.

The Lady Bucs (0-1) shot just 17.2 percent (5-of-29) in the first half and 24.6 percent (14-of-57) for the game, committing 20 turnovers while forcing 12. 

Jasmine Ellis (Memphis, Tenn./Central HS) led the Lady Bucs with 12 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.  Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) added 11 with six rebounds, while Aramis Judson (Bristow, Va./Stonewall Jackson HS) scored eight.

Phagen Altom led the Scots with 14 points, while Whitney Keith scored 11.

The Lady Bucs return to action Tuesday night at home as they face Harding at 5 p.m.
