Box Score MEMPHIS—Visiting Ouachita Baptist used a 14-1 first-half run to take control on their way to a 78-48 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Thursday night at Canale Arena.
The first five minutes featured three ties and a lead change, with
Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) knotting the game at nine with 15:10 remaining in the first half. Ouachita Baptist (17-6, 8-3 GSC West) forward Tamara Robinson knocked down a jumper on the next possession to spark the 14-1 run, and the Lady Bucs (8-15, 1-10) never came closer than 10 points again.
Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) led the Lady Bucs with 17 points. Green scored 15 points with seven rebounds, and
Briley Milfeld (Farmington, Mo./Farmington HS) dished out four assists to go with nine points.
Robinson led OBU with 16 points, while Gabby Coleman and A'Laeshia Adams scored 14 each.
The Lady Bucs' 28 turnovers were the second-highest total of the season, and their -18 turnover margin was their worst of the season. OBU's 16 steals also matched an opponent season high.
The Lady Bucs shot 28.3 percent (13-of-46) overall to Ouachita's 37.5 percent (27-of-72), and OBU out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 46-38.
The Lady bucs hit the road Saturday night at 5:30 when they visit Harding. They celebrate Senior Night next Thursday at 5 p.m. against No. 3 Delta State.
