Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark.—Host Southern Arkansas out-scored the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs 48-25 over the final 16:20 as they pulled away to an 84-63 win Saturday night in the final game of the season for both schools.
The Lady Bucs (8-18, 1-13 GSC West) built a 13-2 lead in the first six minutes, eventually extending the lead to 18-5 on an
Aramis Judson (Bristow, Va./Stonewall Jackson HS) triple with 12:20 remaining in the first half. The Lady Muleriders (5-19, 4-10) scored 14 straight in just over three minutes to take a 19-18 lead, and another 10-0 run extended their lead to 29-22 with 3:15 remaining in the first half.
It was the Lady Bucs' turn to make a run again, with senior guard
Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) scoring the half's final eight points to go into the locker room ahead 30-29. The first three minutes of the second half continued the see-saw action, which featured a total of three ties and nine lead changes before SAU started the decisive run.
Johnson ended her career in style, scoring a career-high 27 points with three steals and three assists. Fellow senior guard
Briley Milfeld (Farmington, Mo./Farmington HS) scored 11, while sophomore guards Judson and
Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) added 13 and 10, respectively.
Marissa Stewart (Atlanta, Ga./Arlington Christian HS) pulled down 10 rebounds.
Kmaria Hobbs led SAU with 23 points. Cha'Kia Lee tacked on 15, and Kristy Shinn scored 11. Shenelda Levingston had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
