Box Score JACKSON, Tenn.—Host Union scored the game-winning goal as time expired in the first overtime as they handed the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs a 2-1 loss, their first of the season.
The Lady Bucs (3-1-2) opened the scoring in the 20th minute as
Amanda Smith (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) found the net. They held the lead for the rest of the first half before Union (5-1-1) equalized in the 48th minute when Ashlie Watson scored. Alex Taylor scored the game-winner for Union as she headed in a cross from Rebecca McDonough in the 100th minute.
Freshman
Robyn Wade (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) continued her exceptional play, making a career-best 10 saves after being named Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week earlier in the day.
The Lady Bucs open GSC play this weekend as they visit Valdosta State Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Their next home game is scheduled for Wednesday night, Sept. 28, when they host Northeastern State at 5 p.m.
