Box Score MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs posted a .414 hitting percentage, third-best in school history, as they swept visiting LeMoyne-Owen in three sets Wednesday night at Canale Arena.
The Lady Bucs (12-4) set the tone early, hitting .560 in the opening set as they steamrolled their way to a 25-6 win. They completed the sweep by winning both the second and third sets 25-13.
Hannah Kurtz (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) posted a match-best 13 kills as she hit .409.
Alison Welch (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) and
Alecia Stewart (Rochester, Minn./Century HS) added seven kills each as 11 of the 13 Lady Bucs who played recorded at least one kill.
Lauren South (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) logged 10 digs as the libero, and
Sami Gruse (Lafayette, Ind./Central Catholic HS) collected a career-high 26 assists.
The Lady Bucs' hitting percentage was just shy of the school record of .423, set last year at LeMoyne-Owen.
The Lady Bucs return to GSC action this weekend with their longest conference trip. They visit West Georgia Friday night at 6 p.m. before playing at Valdosta State Saturday at noon.
