Box Score MEMPHIS—West Georgia's Myra Fisher curled a corner kick into the top of the net with 3.9 seconds remaining in the first half to provide the only goal in West Georgia's 1-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Friday night at Signaigo Field in the Gulf South Conference opener for both schools.
The game was evenly-matched throughout, with each team recording six shots in the first half and four in the second, and each team's keeper made four saves, but Fisher's corner kick carried CBU goalkeeper
Robyn Wade (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) across the goal line as she tried to make the save to give the Wolves (1-2, 1-0 GSC). The Lady Bucs (2-1, 0-1) threatened several times in the final 20 minutes, but they were unable to solve UWG keeper Mary Laza and find the net.
The Lady Bucs return to the field Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they take on Valdosta State.
