Lady Bulldogs Top Lady Bucs 65-48

Adrienne McKay scored seven points in the Lady Bucs' 65-48 loss to Union Saturday afternoon.
Box Score MEMPHIS—Visiting Union used a 13-0 run bridging the halftime break to take control on their way to a 65-48 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday afternoon at Canale Arena.

The decisive run came after the Lady Bucs (3-7, 0-3 GSC) tied the game at 24 on a Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) jumper with 1:53 remaining in the first half.  The Lady Bulldogs (8-4, 3-1) scored the next 13, taking a 37-24 lead on a pair of Amy Philamlee free throws with 15:33 remaining, and the Lady Bucs never came closer than 11 points again.

Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) paced the Lady Bucs with nine points, while Adrienne McKay (Olive Branch, Miss./Briarcrest Christian HS) and Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) scored seven each.

Amber Rechis led Union with 24 points, followed by 13 from Shelby Ashcraft and 12 from Philamlee.

The Lady Bucs shot 34.6 percent (18-of-52) from the floor overall and 33.3 percent (5-of-15) from three-point range.  Union was 39.6 percent (21-of-53) overall and 26.9 percent (7-of-26) from beyond the arc.  Union out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 39-33 and forced 18 turnovers while committing 16.

The Lady Bucs return to action Monday at noon as they wrap up non-conference play at Ouachita Baptist.  Their next home game is set for Thursday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m. against West Georgia.
