Box Score SEARCY, Ark.-Host Harding used a 21-4 run midway through the first half to seize control on their way to a 79-66 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Thursday night at Rhodes Field House.
The Lady Bucs (2-1) opened a 15-10 lead early on a 6-0 burst capped by an
Erica Burgess (Memphis, Tenn./Central HS) layup, but Harding (3-0) answered with the 21-4 run, building their lead to 31-19 on an Arielle Saunders layup with 5:22 remaining. CBU never came closer than seven points again.
Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) scored 18 points with eight rebounds for the Lady Bucs, while Burgess scored 17.
Kristen Celsor led Harding with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Montana Lewis added 13 and nine boards. Shana Holmes scored 12, and Tabitha Lewis and Deshelle Isaac-Boyce tacked on 11 each.
Harding pounded the Lady Bucs on the boards, out-rebounding them 47-30 including a 23-10 edge in offensive rebounds that led to a 21-4 lead in second-chance points. CBU shot 44.1 percent (26-of-59) for the game to Harding's 39.1 percent (25-of-64).
The Lady Bucs come home Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. as they host Mid-Continent.
