Lady Bucs Roll Past Lady Magicians 89-49

Madison Luckett scored 17 points with eight rebounds in the Lady Bucs' 89-49 win over LeMoyne-Owen Monday night.
Box Score MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs opened the game with a 15-0 run and never looked back, leading by as many as 43 points as they cruised to an 89-49 win over LeMoyne-Owen Monday night at Canale Arena.

The Lady Bucs (4-2) shut LOC (0-5) out for nearly eight minutes before LOC found the scoreboard on a pair of free throws with 12:15 remaining in the first half. CBU kept the Lady Magicians scoreless from the field until a Laurien Williamson putback layup with 5:30 remaining in the half, snapping a string of 16 straight misses for LOC. The Lady Magicians finished the first half 4-of-27 from the floor as CBU extended its lead to as many as 30 points in the first half.

LOC never came closer than 24 points again.

Madison Luckett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) led the Lady Bucs with career-highs of 17 points and eight rebounds, while Taylor Pugh (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) tacked on 15 points, 10 rebounds and a career-best five assists. Samantha Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) scored 13, and Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) scored 13 and also set a career-high with five assists.

Ashley Attaway led the Lady Magicians with 11 points and nine rebounds, and Latrice Sears and Teneshia Johnson scored 10 each.

The Lady Bucs held LOC to 20.3 percent (12-of-59) for the game while shooting 48.5 percent (33-of-68) from the floor. Both teams struggled at the free throw line, with the Lady Bucs shooting 59.4 percent (19-of-32) to the Lady Magicians' 57.9 percent (22-of-38). CBU forced 22 turnovers while committing 13, and the Lady Bucs outrebounded LOC 52-46.

The Lady Bucs' next game, Saturday against Lane College, has been moved to Canale Arena. It will be played at 1 p.m. prior to the Bucs' 3 p.m. tilt against Central Baptist.
