Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs used a 7-0 burst midway through the first half and they never looked back in a 56-41 win at West Alabama Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 4-2 early, the Lady Bucs (5-4, 1-2 GSC) never trailed again. The 7-0 burst, capped by a
Madison Luckett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) trey, put CBU ahead 20-11 with 8:18 remaining, and UWA (3-6, 0-3) never came closer than four points again, with CBU gradually stretching its lead to as many as 20 points in the final minutes.
Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) led the Lady Bucs with 15 points and four steals, and
Taylor Pugh (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) scored 10 with six rebounds and two blocks.
Ashley Schaefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) tacked on 10 points and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds for the second consecutive game.
Kelcia Bufkin led the Tigers with 12 points.
The Lady Bucs shot 41.1 percent (23-of-56) for the game while holding UWA to 27.4 percent (17-of-62). CBU out-rebounded the Tigers 43-38 and forced 19 turnovers while committing 17.
The Lady Bucs take a break for Christmas before returning to action Saturday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. as they host Shorter.
