Tigers Top Lady Bucs 57-41

April Bonner grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the Lady Bucs' 57-41 loss at West Alabama Saturday afternoon.
Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala.-Host West Alabama opened a 9-0 lead in the first six minutes and never trailed in a 57-41 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Bucs (6-18, 3-13 GSC) pulled within a 15-12 margin when a Candis Clear (Memphis, Tenn./East HS) triple capped a 7-0 burst, but UWA (12-12, 7-9) answered with a 12-2 run keyed by 10 points by Brittany Weathers.  The Lady Bucs closed within a 34-30 margin early in the second half, but again UWA responded with a 12-2 run and the Lady Bucs never came closer than eight points again.

Clear and Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) scored 11 points each to lead the Lady Bucs.  April Bonner (Memphis, Tenn./Kirby HS) hauled down a career-high 10 rebounds to go with four points.

Weathers posted game-highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Nikkia Jordan scored 17.

The Lady Bucs shot just 25 percent (15-of-60) for the game compared to UWA's 30.9 percent (17-of-55).  The Lady Bucs held a 50-37 edge in rebounds, including 21-12 in offensive boards, but they committed 18 turnovers while forcing just 10.

The Lady Bucs wrap up the regular season with a pair of home games next week.  They host Valdosta State Thursday night at 5:05 p.m., and they celebrate Senior Day Saturday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. against West Florida.
