Lions Top Cold Lady Bucs 61-41

Candis Clear scored a team-high 12 points in the Lady Bucs' 61-41 loss at North Alabama Thursday night.
Box Score FLORENCE, Ala.--The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs shot just 29.1 percent in a 61-41 loss at North Alabama Thursday night.

The Lions (15-7, 8-4 GSC) opened the game on a 10-2 run and never trailed, and a 13-0 run midway through the second half put the lead out of reach. The Lady Bucs (5-14, 2-9) had closed within a 40-31 margin after back-to-back Candis Clear (Memphis, Tenn./East HS) three-pointers with 10:23 remaining. A Delisa Madry three-pointer sparked the 13-0 run as UNA extended its lead to to 53-31 on an Abby Andrews jumper with 7:18 remaining.

Clear led the Lady Bucs with 12 points, making 4-of-8 three-pointers. Samantha Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Corinne White led the Lions with 12 points, and Jennifer Towne tacked on 10.

The Lady Bucs were 16-of-55 for the game to UNA's 43.6 percent (24-of-55).  UNA out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 39-32, with each team grabbing 12 offensive boards.  CBU committed 16 turnovers to the Lions' 11.

The Lady Bucs retur to action Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. when they visit Union.
