Ferraz’s Goal Lifts Bucs 1-0

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.-Christian Brothers University senior forward Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) scored his 11th goal of the season to lift the Bucs to a 1-0 win at Ouachita Baptist Saturday afternoon.

In the 36th minute, freshman Devon Jackson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) sent a cross in from the right side to Ferraz in the six-yard box. Ferraz's sliding shot found the left side of the net, giving the Bucs (10-2) all the offense they would need.

The Bucs threatened several times the rest of the way, but they were unable to find the net again against OBU (6-6-1) goalkeeper David Henley, who made six saves.

Britton McGuire (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) made a pair of saves to record the shutout.

For the game, the Bucs out-shot OBU 20-5, including a 7-2 edge in shots on goal.

The Bucs return to action Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. as they visit Montevallo. Their next home game is Friday night at 7 p.m. as they host Lee.
