MONTEVALLO, Ala.-Sophomore midfielder Diego Silva Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Colegio Pitagoras) scored his first goal of the season in the first half to lift Christian Brothers University Bucs to a 1-0 win at Montevallo Monday afternoon.

Shane Keely (Dublin, Ireland/Colaiste Ide) set up the goal in the 19th minute as he drew a foul dribbling up the right sideline approximately 25 yards out. Silva Vieira took the free kick, sending it into the left side of the net to give the Bucs (11-2) all the offense they would need, as he sent a shot past Montevallo (6-5-3) goalkeeper Yannic Horn.

Neither team would score the rest of the way, with Britton McGuire (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) making four saves as the Bucs out-shot Montevallo 13-8 for the game, with each team putting four shots on goal.

The Bucs return to action Friday night at 7 p.m. as they host Lee.
